Our Story

Gudrun Feigl founded Mount Pleasant Herbary in the spring of 2009. The Herbary is located in the rolling hills of Wayne County, PA, 20 minutes North of Honesdale in Mount Pleasant Township.

After moving from Germany to the US in 2002, Gudrun desperately missed the selection of herbal tea blends widely available in her home country. So she did what any rational woman would do - she grew her own!

Originally published in 1880, History of Wayne County proclaimed Mount Pleasant Township the "Switzerland of Pennsylvania." Nearly a century and a half later, her 2-acre farm remains surrounded by open pastures and wildflower meadows.

Gudrun soon added botanical soaps, salves, foot baths, and other herbal creations to her product line, and Mount Pleasant Herbary was born.

In September 2016, after seven years of selling her botanical products at local farmers' markets and art shows, Gudrun opened her first  brick & mortar store  in historic Honesdale's picturesque Maude Alley.

Eight years later Mount Pleasant Herbary's success mandated a larger space.  Today you can find Gudrun, Mount Pleasant Herbary, and a peaceful oasis on Honesdale's bustling Main Street.
